
The
Bakery Pastry Arts students learn the basic techniques of baking and
then move into more advanced methods working with marzipan, chocolate
and meringues. The science of baking is included in the course as well
as sanitation procedures and safety practices. Students work in an
on-site bakery with the most up-to-date equipment as they train for a
career in the industry.
Program Highlights
The
Culinary Arts program trains students in all areas of the demanding and
competitive world of food service. Basic cooking techniques, baking,
salad preparation, cafeteria operation and advanced culinary skills are
taught by chef instructors and guest chefs. Students operate a
full-service restaurant in their senior year and cater functions
before, during and after school.
