I would like to take a moment of your time to welcome you and your student to Lorain County Joint Vocational School. My name is Mr. Csizmadia and I am one of the instructors teaching the American Civics/U.S. Government course at the JVS.

Our students will be covering a lot of material in a short span of time. Attendance and punctuality are of the utmost importance. They will have high expectations to meet. With the necessary commitment and your support, I am sure they will be successful.

The Roles of the President

The President is the head of the executive branch. Carrying out laws is only part of the job. The President's most important duty is to set goals for the nation and develop policies. Policies are ways of reaching goals. The president must make final decisions on many important issues.

The House of Representatives -- The House of Representatives shall be composed of Members chosen every second Year by the People of the several States, and the Electors in each State shall have the Qualifications requisite for Electors of the most numerous Branch of the State Legislature.
The United States Senate -- The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, chosen by the Legislature thereof, for six Years; and each Senator shall have one Vote.
The White House -- The Executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his term during the next four Years, and, together with the Vice-President chosen for the same Term, be elected, as follows...
