Community and National Scholarships
Criteria- membership in 4 H -- awards and other criteria vary.
Heavy Equipment Technician. Up to $2,000. Criteria: interest in heavy equipment repair. Deadline May 1.
Criteria 200 word bio and 1,200-1,500 word essay on how Alzheimer's disease has impacted your life. $5,000.
Criteria-plan on attending Kent State University to major in Early Childhood or Middle Childhood Education. Need Based.
Two (2) $500 scholarships available to any Ohio resident pursuing a career path that is related to the HVACR industry may apply.
Criteria-a commitment to the hospitality industry - hotel/restaurant management, culinary arts, travel/tourism, or hotel administration. $500-5,000 scholarships.
$1,000 Scholarsip - Criteria: Senior High School Girl, Daughter or granddaughter of a current American Legion Auxiliary, need based. Deadline May
We are offering high school seniors in Ohio the opportunity to win one of three $1,000 scholarships. These will be awarded to students that are interested in pursuing an animation related field at an accredited post-secondary school or college.
The program has specific scholarships for incoming freshmen and upper-level undergraduate students. All of the scholarships are based on financial needs and with the usual minimum GPA requirement of 3.0.
Feb 1 and June 30, 2012.

$500 Avon resident. Criteria: GPA 3.0 community or volunteer experience.
BioOhio : $1,2500. Criteria: To be considered for a scholarship, the student must live in Ohio, be a high school senior or senior-equivalent in good standing, and plan to pursue bioscience-related studies at an Ohio college/university. Deadline for applications is March .

GPA 2.5 , Work part-time an average of 15 hours /week; demonstrate participation in community service activities. Provides $1,000 scholarship awards to eligible restaurant team members working at a qualified participating restaurant location in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. Additionally, the top BURGER KING Employee Scholarship applicants will be eligible to receive a James W. McLamore Outstanding Scholar award in the amount of $5,000.
$1,000 scholarships to 350 high-school seniors. Students are selected based on academic achievement and leadership in extracurriclar or civic activities. Application must be completed on-line www.cargill.com ( keyword scholarships). Deadline: Feb. 15th.

Six $2,000 scholarships for students pursuing a manufacturing career through LCCC, CCC or Lakeland CC. March 5, 2011 deadline.Application on line.
(Marion Motley Scholarship) two 4 year-renewable up to $2,500 per year. Criteia-2.5 GPA, ACT 18 min. Need Based. Deadline Nov.
Criteria- 500 word essay, official scholarship entry form (availabe on website or in Student Services Office), community involvement, letter or recommendation from a faculty member.Deadline March 5.
Criteria: truly movitaved , dedicated , involved high school students. Coca-cola awards 3 million a year in scholarships to 250 deserving students. Apply online www.coca-colascholars.org .

Two $1,000 scholarships from Columbia chamber of Commerce and Lucille MacClellan Memorial.
$1,000 Open to residents of Avon and Avon Lake.
Ten-$1,000 scholarships . Criteria Avon or Avon Lake. Selection based on Academic performance, written communication skills, Clear career goals, volunteer/community service.
Due: March 17th. Application available in Student Services.
$3,000 Criteria: active participant of Skills USA, FCCLA or Prostart for at least one year. Complete scholarship application for CIA by April 1st , and 500 word essay, and Enroll at the CIA by June.

$1,000 for any student interested in pursuing an office related career. Due: Feb. 15,2011. Application available in Student Services.

$750 scholarship for students interested in any aspect of aviation.
Criteria: Interest, exposure to aviation, future plans , reason for need or want. Due: May 15th.

Award- (Two) $1,000 to qualified members who are also members of National Technical Honor Society.

Student must be committed to the study of horticulture, forestry or agriculture, environmental science, botany or landscaping. Up to $3,000. April Deadline.
Open to anyone enrolled in a building or contruction trade school program. Deadline April 30,2010.
Student with plans to enter college no later than the fall after graduation; a strong commitment to pursuing a bachelor degree at an accredited institution. Critical financial need ($50,000 or less adjusted gross income per family; involvement in community and co-curricular activities; demonstrates integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity. Min. 2.0 GPA.
up to $20,000 ($5,000/ yr. renewable) Criteria- Elyria & Midview seniors, 2.8 GPA, 2 letters of recommendations, merit based on community service, volunteerism and extra curricular. (Immediate family members of Elyria Rotary are not eligible).
Criteria: Need based, 150 word statements of career objectives and goals. Open to Oberlin, Keystone ,Firelands and Wellington students. Deadline usually late April.
Scholarships associated with club involvement. DECA , Skills USA , FCCLA etc.
(1) $1,000 and (2) $250 scholarships. 550-1,000 word essay. Parents, Grandparents or self must be a member Ohio Farm Union.
up to $5,000. Must be female 17 years or older.
Two- $500. And possible Four- $2,500 Statewide. Criteria: A high school senior planning to attend a post–secondary education of any kind. Applications available in Student services or on line. Deadline Feb. 10,2012
Scholarship Amount: The amount of the scholarship varies but averages $500.00 (may be more or less).

Eligibility Criteria: Be a graduating LCJVS senior; be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in the following academic year as a full-time student at an accredited post-secondary school within the United States; be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.; applicant does not need to have ever donated blood; have a 2.0 GPA or above while enrolled at the LCJVS; and have the heart of a vocational learner and be sincere about pursuing post-secondary education.

Criteria: Letter of recommendation 300 word essay.Application usually available in student services by May 1st.

Open to African American Seniors . Criteria : 3.0 GPA. Required: Application submitted on line and essay. Scholarships are also offered for college undergraduates.
$1,500 and up. Criteria: Wanting post secondary food service education and a career in the food service industry. 2.7 GPA Applications available Jan, 2010.
$2,000 Prostart: Criteria-Earn a Prostart certificate of achievement and meet standards above. Deadlines vary.
NTHS gives multiple scholarships. Criteria: Current member and involvement in your professional orgamization. Scholarship deadline range from Jan- April. Check individual scholarship for details.
Check out NR High School Website for the local scholarship application good for up to 22 different scholarships. (Example: North Ridgeville Chamber of Commerce: $500 any graduating NR student planning to major in a Business related curriculum.

Black Caucus Scholarship: $500.Criteria: African-American, 2.5 gpa, intention to attend an Ohio 2 or 4 yr. college.

Open to High School seniors who reside within one of the 1,308 Ohio townships. Thre $1,500 scholarships awarded for local government achievement or academic achievement.
Criteia: 500 word essay, letters of recommendation and plan to attend an Ohio 2 or 4 year College or University.Deadline: January
Six- $500 stipend awarded. Eligibility: African-American student accepted to an Ohio college. 2.5 GPA. Criteria: Financial need, academic record, extra curriculum activites, and personal qualities.
Deadline: April 22, 2011.
$500. Criteria: Open to any outstanding senior who intends to major in education. April Deadline.
Two (2) $500 scholarships available to any Ohio resident pursuing a career path that is related to the plumbing or heating industry may apply.
Criteria: High School Senior. Deadline: March 15.
$1,000. Criteria: Active member of Skills USA.
$1,000. Scholarship available to seniors whose parent/guardians are members of Lorain- Media Rural Electric. Crieria top 60% of class and at least 2.75 GPA. Created to reward students who have struggled with unique chsllenges to complete their education. Winner eligible to win an additioanal $1,700.
Associate $2,000, Criteria: 18 ACT. Reach up to $2,000 renewable
Walton $10,000 Criteria: 3.0 GPA, 22 ACT.
$500. Granted by the Lo. Co. Educational Service Center Endowment.Criteria: Pursuing a degree in education as a full time student. 2 teacher recommendations.
Criteria-Financial Need, pref. to Lorain residents continuing in a trade or industrial field. (e.g. building trades, Culinary Arts etc.)
Available thru the Lorain County foundation scholarship.
$1,000 Criteria-Any graduating senior pursuing a career in the broadcast industry.
$1,000. Criteria- Diagnosed with cancer before the age of 21. Applications available on-line during mid Dec.
