Diversified Health Occupations Students Earn Industry Certification JVS Diversified Health Occupations students who earned their Nurse Assistant Certification. April 20, 2008 -- Twenty-two Diversified Health Occupations students received their Nurse Assistant Pins during a recent candlelight ceremony on at the JVS. The following students, listed by home school, were pinned and recognized for earning their Nurse Assistant Certification: Amherst- Savana Liston. Elyria-Amanda Burngasser, Felicia Casteel, Shannon Daniels, Ashley Erb, Meggan Mitchell, Clarissa Natal, Samantha Rodgers, Shaquaya Turner. Firelands- Paul Garcia, Georgia Kennell, Sharon Lawson, Michaela Weir. Keystone- Jessica Harper. Midview-Samantha Parker. North Ridgeville- Meaghan Camp, Angel Collins, Melissa Garson, Brittany Ross, Kyle Wade. Oberlin-Rebecca Palmer. Wellington- Alexandria Flood. The Nurse Assistant course includes over 75 hours of class and clinical training and requires both a written and skills test. The JVS students completed their clinical training at Amherst Manor Retirement Center. Upon successful completion of this course students become eligible to take the state test for Nurse Assisting. Mrs. Susan Wallace, JVS Diversified Health Occupations Instructor, officiated the ceremony. Special guests included Mrs. Pam Garcia and Mrs. Miranda Maynard from EMH Regional Healthcare Systems, whose generous grant provided funding for this event.
