July 15, 2010 -- Three Lorain County JVS Baking & Pastry students created the signature dessert served at the Community Foundation of Greater Lorain County's "Women of Compassion" event at Lorain County Community College.
Mylene Richmond (Wellington), Willow Hasbrook (Oberlin) and Destiny Tyree (Midview) worked together to create a Caramel and Pumpkin Mousse Cake. "It's not your average, run-of-the-mill recipe," stated Baking & Pastry Instructor Chris Moore, "But our students pride themselves on being able to create rich, decadent and fulfilling desserts."
"These girls are very good students," continued Moore. "They were chosen to create this special dessert to recognize and reward all of their hard work."
The public can purchase any number of delicious desserts or pastries at the JVS Bakery Café. The Café is open to the public from 10:00am-1:00pm, on most Wednesdays and Thursdays during the school year. Call 440/774-1051, ext. 2340 for more information.
