November 10, 2009 -- Approximately ten years ago the Lorain County JVS, The Employment netWork and Lorain County Community College began a partnership to help serve Lorain County residents with funding, educational training needs and workforce development. During those 10 years there have been many changes within the partnership to expand and upgrade services offered to Lorain County residents and businesses.

One of the most recent changes is the placement of the computer Kiosk systems at The Employment netWork, JVS Adult Career Center and LCCC. This new system allows potential Employment netWork customers to register at any of these locations to access the services available through The netWork. Additionally, this new computer system allows the Adult Career Center counseling staff to track potential JVS students through all processes with The netWork.

Another addition is having an Employment netWork counselor housed at the JVS Adult Career Center. Lynn Acheson provides career guidance to individuals through the Lorain County Federal Stimulus Training Initiative: "Stimulate your Career, learn more, live better." She assists clients in reviewing labor market information, validating their career choices and developing plans for training or education to meet their career goals.
