December 21, 2009 -- Four JVS Masonry Trades students participated in the Ohio Administrative District Council of Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers' Inaugural Christmas Masonry Contest on December 18, 2009. There were 2 seniors and 2 juniors that were in the High School competition levels. Nik Husar (Clearview) and Kevin Street (Amherst) represented the seniors, and Mike Madan (Avon) and Ivan Santiago (Elyria) represented the juniors. They were competing against top masonry students from other Northeastern Ohio career-technical schools.

Kevin Street took 3rd place and Nik Husar took 4th place in the High School Seniors Level. All of the students did an outstanding job on their projects during the contest, and the scores were very close.
