March 3, 2010 -- Lorain County JVS students and their parents were invited to a Post High School Agency & College Day presentation event. Representatives from several local support agencies were on hand to share information about the services available after high school graduation. Those in attendance included Murray Ridge, Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation (BVR), Linking Employment, Abilities, and Potential (LEAP) and Center for Independent Living (CIL).
In addition, representatives from Lorain County Community College and the University of Akron shared advice and welcomed students to ask questions about their higher education programs.
"It was a wonderful way to share information with the students," said JVS Special Needs Supervisor, Jane Murphy. "These transition services are very important for students who need individual or small group support as they transition from school to work or college."
