The Lorain County JVS recently completed construction on a new multi-room Medical Technology Lab for the school's Adult Career Center, and dedicated the new area with a formal Ribbon Cutting with the Lorain County Chamber of Commerce.
"The impetus behind the new lab is our commitment to training workers for the healthcare industry in Northeast Ohio," stated JVS Superintendent John Nolan.
"The healthcare programs offered by the Adult Career Center are always at or near full enrollment," stated Adult Director Chris Fletcher, the administrator responsible for overseeing the project. "This new lab space has allowed us to expand our course offerings filling a great need for medical training in our county."

It's not uncommon for several members of the same family to choose to come to the Lorain County JVS for career-technical training. What is unusual, however, is for three sisters to choose the same JVS program, the same career field, and all start work at the same business on the same day.

Mylene Richmond (Wellington), Willow Hasbrook (Oberlin) and Destiny Tyree (Midview) worked together to create a Caramel and Pumpkin Mousse Cake. "It's not your average, run-of-the-mill recipe," stated Bakery & Pastry Instructor Chris Moore, "But our students pride themselves on being able to create rich, decadent and fulfilling desserts."
JVS Honors Graduates Who Served in the Armed Forces
The Lorain County JVS would like to honor JVS graduates who are military veterans, or who are currently serving in the Armed Forces. Plans are in process to dedicate a "Military Wall" within the Lorain County JVS. The names and photographs of these men and women will be placed on this wall.
Anyone wishing to be included on the Military Wall can do so by emailing or sending a photograph, along with the following information, to the Lorain County JVS. Family members should feel free to send in information on behalf of their loved ones, living or deceased.

Carpentry students visited the Cosmetology lab and were treated to haircuts, eyebrow waxes and paraffin hand treatments.
Cosmetology students visited the Carpentry lab and worked with fellow students to build their own personal tool boxes.

The Early Childhood Education students have adopted this cause as a FCCLA (Family, Career & Community Leaders of America) Youth Club project.
