Career Development 2010 Catalog Now Available

This is a special edition of the JVS Adult Career Center FOCUS. This e-newsletter was created to keep you up to date on Adult Career Center happenings, upcoming events and courses, and the achievements and challenges of our school. The Adult Career Center provides training for adults looking to change careers or upgrade current job skills. Custom training, staff assessments and other services are available on- or off-site to assist businesses with their staff training needs.

Our Fall 2010 Course Catalog Will Arrive in Lorain County Mailboxes the First Week of June

Whether you're looking to further your education, earn an industry credential, specialize in your field or embark on a new career, we're here to help you succeed!

Registration:
Call 440-774-1051 or 440-986-6601 ext. 2254 to schedule an admissions appointment with a program representative.

This meeting will provide you with the program's specifics, entrance requirements, job market, salary and hiring potential. Additionally, you will have an opportunity to meet with a Financial Assistance Officer, if desired.

Financial Assistance
If you are interested in applying for a grant, loan or other assistance, you will need to set an appointment with our Financial Assistance Officer. In preparation for your appointment, you may fill out a FAFSA online at The LCJVS school code is 026038. If you would prefer to complete the FAFSA with the assistance of a Financial Assistance Officer, please be sure to bring your W-2s and federal tax form 1040 from 2009 to your appointment. Call 440-774-1051 ext. 2254 to schedule an appointment.

Employment Opportunities
The Career Services Office serves as a liaison between students and the employment community. An ongoing database of available employment opportunities is maintained and made available to job seekers. Job seekers are directed to potential employment opportunities based on their skills, training and experience. Employers are encouraged to send job postings to the Career Services Office by mail or fax.

All teachers are qualified practitioners in their art of instruction and are certified by the Ohio Department of Education.

The JVS Adult Career Center is accredited, affiliated and approved by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement, Ohio Board of Regents, and Adult Workforce Development.
