S.P.C. is a quality control tool used by many organizations as one of the primary tools used in a quality control program. It is often referenced and used by the workforce to monitor manufacturing or service performance and when used and understood by the workforce, it is a very powerful tool to avoid quality and re-work problems. Yet as powerful and useful as it is, many in the workforce struggle with its implementation and use. This is often attributed to a lack of understanding of how to properly implement and maintain an SPC system. The SPC training offered by the Adult Career Center is aimed at those individuals that are using the system daily in their job. It is presented in four units:
An Introduction (which defines SPC terms and steps in the process)
Variables (teaches key concepts related to variables)
Attributes (teaches the key concepts related to attributes data)
Problem Analysis (teaches the key concepts related to identifying the source of a problem)
The course is 16 to 20 hours long and gives the student a higher understanding and confidence in an SPC program.
