JVS Hosts Annual Craft Show

The Lorain County JVS is looking for crafters for its annual Craft Show on Saturday, October 25th from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Applications are available on this website, under "Forms-Community Forms" on the blue menu bar.

Mr. Bentley Welcome to the Adult Education Precision Machine Technology program. This program will get you started toward a rewarding career in metalworking, with the National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS) certification. Currently, there are many positions available for skilled metalworkers. Soon northern Ohio will have a major shortage of skilled metalworkers. This program consistently puts 90% to 100% of its graduates in related jobs! Topics include: Machining, Blueprint Reading, GD&T, CMM ( Coordinate Measuring Machine ), Shop Math, CNC, Tooling, Measuring, Safety ( OSHA 10 Hour ), and Metallurgy. Students participate in a work – based experience in a local manufacturing company, Initial testing fees are included.

Education: High school diploma or Equivalent Compensation: $40-45K Year

Position Summary
Duties:
1. Set up and operate nutformers, boltmakers, and headers.
2. Inspect parts as necessary.
3. Perform machine maintenance as required.
4. Trouble-shoot machine errors under guidance of Area Supervisor.
5. Ensure safe operating procedures are used at all times.
6. Train new operators.
7. Reduce scrap and tool breakage when possible.
8. Repair and make tooling when required.
9. Other duties as required.


Experience and Educational Background Required:
Seeking an operator/set-up person with 4-die boltmaker experience, preferably with National Machines working with stainless steel and/or exotic metals.


Special Conditions:
1. Lifting of heavy weights.
2. Environment may be smoky and noisy at times.
3. Wire lubricants make cleanliness difficult.
