Medical Office

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to work in a Medical Office? Wear Scrubs? Speak the medical language you hear on TV? In just five months you can be a Certified Medical Administrative Assistant. This short-term, evening program is designed for working and non-working students who are looking to move quickly into the workforce. The Medical Office program prepares you for a successful career as a medical administrative assistant or clinical assistant in a doctor’s office or medical facility. In the classroom and Medical Lab, you will learn Medical Office Procedures, Basic Medical Terminology, Patient Registration and Scheduling, Electronic Health Records, Health Insurance and Basic Billing Procedures, Vital Signs and Rooming Patients. All the skills you need to step from the classroom to the workforce.

The program contains a 20-hour non-paid work-based component and CPR- BLS Certification. Students will take the NHA Certified Medical Administrative Assistant exam at the end of class. High school diploma or GED required. Books and test fees are extra. Class size limited to 20 students.
