FFA Award Presented to JVS Senior and Chapter President

Landscape and Greenhouse Management senior and JVS FFA Chapter President, Sydney Collier from Clearview, was presented the 110% Award at the recent JVS FFA Banquet. This award, sponsored by AgCredit, is available to the three different FFA Chapters in Lorain County.

This honor is given to the student who has gone above and beyond his/her duties for their chapter and is chosen by the chapter advisor(s).

Collier, who plans to attend Ohio University to study wildlife and conservation biology, shared how her JVS career-tech program and involvement in the FFA Organization, has prepared her for the future.

“I have been a part of the Landscape and Greenhouse Management program and the agricultural education program, FFA for two years now,” shared Collier. “Starting out, I did not talk a lot and could not talk to a group of people without stumbling over my own words.  FFA has given me the voice I did not know I had and now I can apply the lessons I have learned in my future.”

Beth Berthold, JVS Landscape and Greenhouse Management Instructor and FFA Advisor, said how Sydney is more than anyone could ask for or want in a student. “Sydney is there all the time to help any student, in any program, at any time and is always willing to go the extra mile.”

Sydney received a certificate and a monetary gift of $50 from AgCredit. AgCredit is a cooperative agricultural lending institution specializing in lending for farms and rural property, as well as improvements and equipment.
