Educational Foundation Scholarships

Hampson Family Foundation Adult Career Center

The Hampson Family Foundation Scholarship was established in 2008 by the Hampson Family Foundation. Three scholarships will be awarded to Adult Career Center students in need of financial assistance.

J. Edgar Martin Scholarship

J. Edgar Martin was a benefactor of the Lorain County JVS who bequeathed funds to be used for student scholarships. The J. Edgar Martin Scholarship was established in 2004.

John L. Kopronica Memorial Scholarship Adult Career Center

The John L. Kopronica Memorial Scholarship was established in 2006 in memory of John L. Kopronica by his wife, Robin, and other family members and friends. John worked as a welder at Lorain Products and was known throughout Northeast Ohio as the clarinet and saxophone player in his band, The Castaways. The Scholarship will be awarded to an Adult Career Center student enrolled in welding courses.

Julie L. Hogan Memorial Scholarship

The Julie L. Hogan Memorial Scholarship was established in 2005 by the family and friends of Julie Hogan. Julie Hogan was a student in the JVS Marketing and Management program, completing the program in 1992.

Lorain County JVS Tribute Scholarship

The Lorain County JVS Student Memorial Scholarship was established in 2005 in memory of former JVS students who have passed away. In 2012, this scholarship was renamed the Lorain County Tribute Scholarship, to be given in memory or honor of students, staff, or friends of the JVS.

William R. Burton Scholarship

The William R. Burton Scholarship was established in 1994 by the Lorain County JVS Teachers' Association in memory of William R. Burton, the founding superintendent of the Lorain County JVS. Mr. Burton devoted his efforts to establish and maintain high standards of performance for both the JVS faculty and students.

William R. Randall Scholarship

The William R. Randall Scholarship was established in 2008 by the Lorain County JVS Teachers' Association in memory of retired Superintendent William R. Randall, with the financial support of his family, friends, Lorain County JVS staff and longtime educational associates. Mr. Randall was Superintendent at the Lorain County JVS from 1999 until his retirement in 2007, culminating a 40-year career in adult and high school career technical education.

Cancer Survivor College Scholarship

The applicant must submit an essay discussing the following question. HOW HAS MY EXPERIENCE WITH CANCER IMPACTED MY LIFE VALUES AND CAREER GOALS? Essays must be a minimum of 500 words and a maximum of 1200 words. Criteria- Diagnosed with cancer before the age of 21.

Experimental Aircraft Association

Various scholarship for students interested in any aspect of aviation.
Criteria: Interest, exposure to aviation, future plans , reason for need or want.

Joel McRoberts Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship amount: $1,000
Requirements: Must be enrolled for the fall quarter/semester 2017 at a two or four-year college or university in Ohio as a full-time student, must be enrolled in an agricultural or natural resource related field, must have a 2.5 minimum high school GPA, must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA for the first quarter/semester.

National Technical Honor Society

NTHS gives multiple scholarships. Criteria: Current member and involvement in your professional orgamization. Scholarship deadline range from Jan- April. Check individual scholarship for details.

2019 BluePay STEM Scholarship August 16th

Award: 1,000 (first place), $250 (2nd runner ups).
Qualifications: To qualify, undergraduate or graduate students must be majoring in a STEM field of study and attending an accredited college or university. The application includes an essay answering 1 of 3 questions in a minimum of 500 and a maximum of 1,000 words.

SigEp Building Balanced Men August 1st

Award amount varies.
Applicants have no obligation to join or affiliate with Sigma Phi Epsilon to be eligible for the scholarship.
Criteria: Full-time, Cleveland State University freshmen for the upcoming academic year, male, and 3.0 GPA or greater.

AES Engineering Scholarship October 6th

Award: $500
Criteria: You are NOT required to be taking engineering courses to be eligible, winner is selected based on essay (500-1000 words)

Automotive Hall of Fame June 30th

The program has specific scholarships for incoming freshmen and upper-level undergraduate students. All of the scholarships are based on financial needs and with the usual minimum GPA requirement of 3.0.

American Trucks' Student Scholarship June 15th

$2,000 scholarship for a student who is currently enrolled full-time in a secondary vocational school, technical institute, or are high school seniors who are enrolled in one of the aforementioned institutes.

Extreme Terrain June 15th

$3,000 scholarship to students who are pursuing a Biology or related degree in Environmental Studies.

Coca-Cola October 31st

Cpl. Brad D. Squires Scholarship April 15th

To apply, fill out the attached application and include (1) official school transcript and (2) a 2-3 page typed paper describing a goal you have set for yourself, how you worked to achieve that goal, and whether it was achieved or not. Available to all Midview High School students.

Workforce Demand Scholarship April 15th

Award: Up to an associate's degree at Terra State Community College
Criteria: Must be enrolled at Terra State Community College in one of the following majors: Computer systems, Digital Media Technology, Electrical, Health Information Technology, Management (business, agribusiness, hospitality), Manufacturing Engineering, Music Technology, Office Administration, Robotics-Integrated Manufacturing Technology, Welding.
Deadline: Must have Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), admissions application, and scholarship application submitted by March 1st. Must be registered for fall semester by June 15th.

WOBL/WDLW Scholarship April 12th

Award: $1,000 non-renewable
Qualifications: Must be accepted into a program for broadcasting, whether at an accredited college, university or technical school for broadcasting.

Ohio Tour Guide Scholarship December 31st

Safe Driving Scholarship December 31st

Driving-Tests.org hosts an annual safe driving scholarship. College students and high school seniors are invited to submit a two-minute video answering a topical question for a chance at a $2500 prize.

Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation March 1st

Several scholarships available. Award amounts vary.
Applicants must be the child of one of the following: Active duty, reserve, or veteran U.S. Marine, a Marine killed while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, Active duty, reserve, or veteran U.S. Navy Corpsman who is/was attached to a U.S. Marine unite, a Navy Corpsman attached to a Marine unit that was killed while serving in the U.S. Navy. Additionally, GPA of at least a 2.0, family adjusted gross income for the 2018 tax year that does not exceed $100,000. Non-taxable allowances are not included in the adjusted gross income. Attending or planning to attend a college or career-technical training school listed on the National Center for Education Statistic's College Navigator website in the 2019-20 academic year.

OAPSE/AFSCME Memorial Scholarship March 1st

Award: $2,500
Criteria: Graduating senior whose parent or legal guardian is a member in good standing of the Ohio Association of Public School Employees Local 4/AFL-CIO, and who intends to enroll in a full-time degree program in any two, or four year accredited university, college, business or technical school. One scholarship is awarded to one applicant in each of the ten OAPSE/AFSCME Districts in the state.

Lorain-Medina Rural Electric (2 scholarships) January 1st

Attention Seniors whose parents/guardians are members of Lorain-Medina Rural Electric Cooperative. LMRE offers TWO separate scholarship opportunities.
1. Children of members scholarship- LMRE will award two $3,000 scholarships to one senior boy and one senior girl. The runners-up in each of the two divisions will receive a $2,000 scholarship award. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.5 of better.
2. Touchstone Energy Achievement Scholarship- LMRE will issue a $1,000 scholarship to a student who has overcome personal or family challenges by demonstrating a high level of maturity, has high standards of character, demonstrates determination in coping with their circumstances, has good citizenship traits, and a record of contribution to their local community - all values expressed by the Touchstone Energy brand.
