With Ohio’s economy expanding—adding over 60,000 jobs in 2023 and ranking as one of the top 10 states for manufacturing employment growth—CTE institutions like Lorain County JVS play a pivotal role in equipping students and adult learners with in-demand skills.

Strengthening Economic and Workforce Development
The visit showcased Lorain County JVS’s advanced manufacturing, engineering, healthcare, and skilled trades programs, highlighting the state-of-the-art training opportunities available to students and employers. With Ohio ranking among the top five states for manufacturing output, regional collaboration between education, industry, and government is vital to sustaining economic momentum.

CTE’s Impact on Ohio’s Workforce Growth
The investment in career-technical education continues to yield results, with Ohio reporting a 94% job placement rate for CTE graduates. Lorain County JVS plays a major role in this success, connecting students to internships, apprenticeships, and direct employment with industry partners such as Swagelok, A.J. Rose, General Plug, and Cutting Dynamics.

Lorain Mayor Jack Bradley underscored the impact of CTE on the local economy:
"Lorain County JVS is essential to our region’s workforce and economic development strategy. By providing technical training that aligns with employer needs, we’re fostering economic stability and growth."
