The Lorain County JVS?staff recently completed a donation drive for Friendship Animal Protective League, a private, independent, non-profit 501(c)(3) humane society founded in Elyria, Ohio in 1957. It is the largest animal shelter in Lorain County.

Gregory Willey, Friendship Animal Protective League executive director, stopped out to the JVS to pick up the donations from the school district, and was grateful for the generosity of the staff.
“As things start getting back to normal, we are getting more and more animals in each and every day,” shared Willey. “What we also know is that many people are struggling right now and a donation like this one will help us either care for the pets people can no longer care for themselves, or it helps us to provide meals and food for those that do not have access to these items but want to be able to keep their pets. These items will go into our pet pantry, which is open on the second Saturday of each month from 1pm-3pm.”

Numerous bags of dry pet food, treats, pet care items, and $349 were collected during the donation drive.
