This summer, JVS Maintenance Technician, Tom Kuhn, facilitated a donation of an industrial cooler to the local nonprofit organization We Care We Share on behalf of the school district.

“The cooler was originally donated to the JVS for the heating and air conditioning program to work on,” shared Kuhn. “The students fixed it and then it didn’t have a home, so I suggested we donate it.”

We Care We Share, located in Lorain, is a nonprofit organization that provides food, clothing, counseling and a work training program to local residents.

“This was the first time our school district donated to a nonprofit and Bill Hurley, founder and president of We Care We Share, was thrilled with the donation,” Kuhn said.

We Care We Share will use the cooler to refrigerate food and drinks that they receive from local food banks.
