The Lorain County JVS Adult Career Center held its Adult Diploma Program graduation ceremony with sixteen students receiving their high school diplomas and a career-technical certificate.

State Tested Nurse Aide program completer and graduate, Vanessa Pinto, shared through tears that it felt good to be standing on the stage to receive her diploma. “I made a promise to my dad to become the woman he knew I could be. Even though it is not easy being a mother of four, working and going to school, I managed against all odds and here I am today. My advice to anyone who feels like giving up is to keep striving for greatness and never give up!”

Dr. Glenn Faircloth, Lorain County JVS superintendent, shared that the event is one of his favorites of the school year. “This is one of our most important days here at Lorain County JVS. These adults are going to go out into our communities and do great things, and the key to achieving that is perseverance. I congratulate all these women and men on their journey and hope that their road does not stop here.”

The Lorain County JVS Adult Career Center completed its sixth year of providing the Adult Diploma Program, which is an educational initiative made possible through state funding. It offers adults 20 years of age and older an opportunity to earn a high school diploma, receive training, and earn an industrial credential.
