Seniors Receive Career-Technical Certifications

The 2023 Lorain County JVS Senior Recognition Ceremony was held at Black River Landing in Lorain on Thursday, May 18, with 376 students receiving career-technical certificates in their respective fields.

The 2023 Lorain County JVS Senior Recognition Ceremony was held at Black River Landing in Lorain on Thursday, May 18, with 376 students receiving career-technical certificates in their respective fields.  

Lorain County JVS High School Principal, Tina Pelto, welcomed the senior students, their families, and guests to the Senior Recognition Ceremony. What a difference a day makes. Yesterday you were high school seniors and today you are high school graduates! Today is a day of celebration! 

As the student speaker, Aniya Qualls, a Cybersecurity and Networking senior from Midview, shared remarks about her high school journey“Lorain County JVS is the reason I feel confident in my skills and in my future. We got a head start here at LCJVS. To all the seniors, congratulations. You should be very proud of yourselves!” 

During the ceremony, eighteen students were acknowledged for being members of the National Technical Honor Society, thirty-two students were applauded for earning nearly $40,000 in local scholarships, and six students were recognized for enlisting in the US Armed Forces. 

At the close of the ceremony, Lorain County JVS Superintendent, Dr. Glenn Faircloth shared these remarks. “We simply thank you all for allowing us to have these young men and women for two, three, or four years. We say to our graduates that are entering the world, you have the tools that you need to succeed. All you need to do is reach into the toolbox and use them.
