The mission of the JVS Coordinated School Health Team is to facilitate a school initiative that improves the health and wellness of JVS students and staff.
The Team's efforts are designed to foster healthy behavior that will improve the academic performance of students enabling them to become more successful in life. In addition to healthy behaviors, programs developed and implemented by the Team have focused on safety in the workplace and at home, ergonomics and injury prevention.
Team members include JVS staff, JVS students and community health and education experts. The Team works closely with the Lorain County Health Department Coordinated School Health Coalition and embraces the philosophy of the nationally recognized Center for Disease Control health model.
Lorain County JVS is a tobacco-free campus and a healthy place to live, work and learn.
The JVS tobacco-free policy prohibits the use of all tobacco products everywhere on the JVS campus, including the school grounds and parking areas. This would effect everyone on our campus including, but not limited to, high school and adult students, staff members, visitors, vendors, and contractors.
