Programs We Offer

Career Development Programs

  • Offer students education and training for the purpose of job entry and job advancement.
  • Include placement assistance and employability skills training.
  • Provide opportunities for trade certifications and credentials in a variety of skilled areas.
  • Allow students to apply for Financial Aid, such as Federal Pell Grants and FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
  • Require a student to take a WorkKeys Assessment and attain a program-specific passing score.

Adult Diploma Program

Free high school diploma and a career credential! The Adult Diploma Program is for adults 20+ years old who are serious about earning a high school diploma and industry credentials in one of Ohio’s in-demand careers. This program is free to those who qualify.

Customized Training for Employers

Are you looking to up-skill your workforce and grow your company, but not sure where to start? Are you worried about the cost and the time it would take? We are here to help.

The Lorain County JVS offers short-term customized training for your workforce in Manufacturing, Automotive, Healthcare, and more. Our experienced instructors are able to create a training program to fit your exact needs, and training is held at a time and place that is convenient for you.

LCCC @ LCJVS

Lorain County Community College and Lorain County JVS partner on a number of programs that are hosted at Lorain County JVS' campus in Oberlin, OH. 


Apprentice Training

Apprentice Training in Industrial Maintenance, Millwright, Machine Repair, Automatic Screw Machine, Tool & Die, Machinist or Sheet Metal Fabrication is a combination of on-the-job experiences designed to provide the apprentice with the skill and knowledge necessary to function as a journeyman.  In order for courses to apply toward a journeyman's card, the student must be registered with the Bureau of Apprenticeship Training approved program sponsored by their employer.

Personal Enrichment and Special Interest

Personal Enrichment and Special Interest courses are designed to promote personal growth and development.  We provide personal enrichment courses in Automotive, Building Trades, Cooking & Baking, Culinary, Health & Beauty, and Manufacturing. 

  

Educator Professional Development

In partnership with Ashland University, Education-to-Go, and Gatlin Education, Lorain County JVS Adult Career Center offers professional development opportunities for educators.
