Seven Lorain County JVS students will advance to the State SkillsUSA Competition in Columbus this April. These students earned this opportunity by receiving top ratings in the North Central Regional SkillsUSA Competition.

Lorain County JVS hosted the regional competition and welcomed students and staff from ten career-technical school districts; Ashland County-West Holmes Career Center, Cuyahoga Valley Career Center, Four Cities Compact, Lorain County JVS, Lorain City Schools, Mayfield City Schools Excel TECC, Medina County Career Center, Parma City CTE Schools, Polaris Career Center, and Wayne County Schools Career Center.

Students competed in sixteen in-house competitions in advertising design, cosmetology, first aid/CPR, medical terminology, photography, welding, and more.

“The SkillsUSA North Central Regional Competition was a great success,” shared Michelle McClintic, Lorain County JVS SkillsUSA Chapter advisor. “We were excited to host this event for the second straight year, and there was a lot of positive energy throughout the day.
