Students Advance to National Competitions

Owen Maiden (Keystone) will advance to the SkillsUSA National competition this June in Atlanta, Georgia.

Five Lorain County JVS students have clinched the first position in their respective state-level competitions and are now geared up to showcase their skills on the national stage.

The students competed at the SkillsUSA and the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America state competitions and earned the opportunity to continue to the next level.

“All of the students worked hard, and showcased their skills at these Career and Technical Student Organization competitions,” shared Tina Pelto, Lorain County JVS high school principal. “We are incredibly proud of their success and wish them the best as they advance to the next level of competition.”

The students competing in the SkillsUSA National competition will head to Atlanta, Georgia in June; while the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) competition will take place in July in Denver, Colorado.
