The Lorain County JVS is an extension of 13 Associate School districts in Lorain County.
ACCEPTANCE IN OUR TWO-YEAR CAREER-TECHNICAL PROGRAMS:
Acceptance to our school is based on attendance, grade point average and credits accumulated during freshman and sophomore years of high school. Students should have enough credits to be of Junior status to be admitted to the two-year career-technical training program at the JVS. These credits earned at a high school will assure that students have the credits to be on schedulde to graduate.
It is recommended that students pass a minimum of nine (9) credits before being admitted to the JVS. Students can earn 14 credits at the JVS. To assure that students are on schedule to graduate, credits should include:
English | 2 credits |
Science | 2 credits |
Health/PE | 1 credit |
Math | 2 credits |
Social Studies | 2 credits |
THE JVS ALSO OFFERS OPPORTUNITES FOR 9TH & 10TH GRADE STUDENTS TO ATTEND:
Ninth and Tenth grade students are able to attend the Lorain County JVS. This program is designed for students who would excel in a hands-on high school experience.
- Ninth grade students are placed in a structured lab setting to provide an introduction and develop skills and knowledge necessary to be accepted in our Career-Techcnical Programs as Juniors and Seniors.
- Tenth grade students will be required to participate in a number of our Career-Technical labs and learn a variety of skills that will help them focus and choose a Lorain County JVS Program as a Junior and Senior.
