Construction Career Exploration

LCCC Construction Career Exploration at LCJVS
Qualified construction workers are always in-demand. With an ongoing need for new building construction, home renovation and repairs, job opportunities are everywhere. These jobs require specific skills like document reading, carpentry, electrical wiring, plumbing and more. But you’ll need to show prospective employers that you have the right experience and training to hit the ground running. LCCC’s Construction Program gives you the hands-on training and experience you need, and helps you gain the fundamental background knowledge and tactical skills to be successful.

The Construction Program offers a short-term certificate that can be earned in one semester, a one-year certificate, and Associate Degrees. Of course, you may choose to further your education beyond LCCC through our University Partnership or transfer programs.

Employment opportunities exist in a variety of residential and commercial construction companies. Lorain County Community College has articulation agreements with colleges and universities including programs offered by Lorain County Community College’s University Partnership.

Formal training and technical experience are necessary to compete, and learning must continue even after you start a job. Earning an Associate degree in construction management can help you get your foot in the door or help you advance in an existing construction career.
