The Lorain County JVS students provide a number of valuable public services for the community while gaining real world work experience in the process. JVS students operate the Buckeye Room Restaurant, the Baking & Pastry Café, the Reflections Salon, Outer Glo Spa, the EDGEucated Cuts Salon, the JVS Greenhouse, and the JVS Preschool.
Public services are always performed by JVS students under the supervision of the program instructors.
A summary of the services available is provided below. Please note, the days the services are available are subject to change without notice, based on the program's curriculum, school closings, student field trips, etc. Therefore, it is always advisable to call ahead for reservations or appointments before driving to the JVS.
Reflections Salon
The Reflections Salon is operated by the senior Cosmetology Program students under the direction of licensed instructors. It is located on the lower level of the Lorain County JVS. The salon offers services in hair and scalp care such as cutting, styling, and scalp massage. Additional services such as permanent waves, relaxers, coloring, and highlights are also available. Customers can also receive services in skin and nail care including facials, manicures and pedicures. Gift certificates and retail products can also be purchased.
The salon is generally open Tuesday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on most school days. Customer services are performed on a "first come, first served" basis.
EDGEucated Cuts Salon
EDGEucated Cuts Salon is located on the lower level of the Lorain County JVS. It is a full service salon with all services performed by senior level Adult Cosmetology students under the supervision of licensed instructors.
For walk in customers, services are performed on a "first come, first served" basis in the time allowed.
Retail products may be purchased. The Redken line of hair care products are used.
Services and retail purchases can be made by using cash or check.

Outer Glo Spa
Outer Glo Spa is also located on the lower level of the Lorain County JVS. A variety of skin care services including facials, waxing, and massage are offered. All services are performed by senior level adult esthetics students under the direct supervision of licensed instructors.
Appointments are appreciated and encouraged. Services for walk-in customers are performed on a "first come, first served" basis in the time allowed.
Services can be purchased by using cash or check; credit cards are not accepted.

Buckeye Room Restaurant
The Buckeye Room Restaurant is a full-service restaurant staffed by senior students in the nationally recognized Culinary Academy. Managed by Chef Tim Michitsch and Maurina Driscoll, the restaurant's menu offers mouth-watering four-course meals at a price you can't beat.
The Buckeye Room is open for lunch – BY RESERVATION ONLY – on scheduled Wednesdays and Thursdays at 11:00am. Reservations can be made by calling (440) 774-1051, Ext. 22400.
Baking and Pastry Café
The Baking and Pastry Café is staffed by students in the Bakery & Pastry Arts Program and managed by program instructor, Chef Chris Moore. The Café is open to the public on select Wednesdays and Thursdays, 10:20 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. Their menu includes delectable offerings such as pies, cheesecakes, tortes, cookies, breads and an assortment of coffees and teas.
Greenhouse
The Landscape and Greenhouse Management students host Christmas-Holiday plant sales in December and spring plant sales in May. The greenhouse is located on the south side of the school building.
A wide variety of plants are available including holiday poinsettias and greenery, and fresh flowers, annual and vegetable flats, perennials, hanging baskets, ferns, and pouches. Prices range from $3.00-$20.00 depending on size and variety.
The Greenhouse is open for fresh flower arrangements and corsages during the school year. Orders must be placed two days in advance of when needed by calling the program instructor.

JVS Preschool
The Early Childhood Education programs manage two preschool programs housed at the JVS. Students work with children three to five years of age in a preschool setting. Junior students operate a four to five year old preschool and senior students work with three year old children, including students requiring special needs. Students plan, conduct and evaluate developmentally appropriate activities based on a weekly theme.
The 3-year old program participates every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 12-2 p.m. The cost of this program is $40 per month.
Four and five-year olds participate every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday morning from 9-11 a.m., at a cost of $60 per month.
The JVS students operate the preschool under the direction of instructors Ashley Lorko and Hilary Duffala.
