Job Description – Maintenance Supervisor, Industrial production equipment
Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor
Department: Maintenance
Reporting: Plant Maintenance Engineer

The Maintenance Technician will work closely with Operations personnel and Maintenance Mechanics in a safety focused, team-based, environment while conducting preventative and predictive maintenance.

Job Scope:
This position reports to the Facility/Maintenance Engineer and will provide expertise with high-speed production equipment, power transmissions, variable speed drives, servos, basic I/O, machine control and PLC’s. The Maintenance Mechanic also contributes a wide range of maintenance support to their shift and on weekends with special emphasis on production lines and processing equipment

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: But not limited to:
• Schedule and supervise the daily functions of the maintenance department making sure that all jobs are followed through and completed in a timely manner.
• Coordinate the training of new and existing maintenance technicians ensure workforce safety through ongoing training and review of work practices.
• Communicate with production department managers, and/or supervisors to set maintenance priorities and provide feedback on the current status of maintenance tasks.
• Maintain preventative and predictive maintenance procedures and schedules including evaluation of existing procedures, calibrations, and inspections.
• Maintain a preventative maintenance schedule program for applicable equipment and machinery.
• Provide technical assistance in determining root cause solutions to equipment failures and performance issues that improve asset reliability and increase productivity. Monitor outside contracts. Complete projects as assigned by Maintenance Management.
• Manage emergency and scheduled plant and machine shut down during shift.
• Drive consistent quality and productivity improvements through process improvements
• Responsible for the inventory control of spare parts.
Other Requirements:
• Experience installing and changing a wide variety of equipment.
• Proven competence in the area of electronics
• Prior food production experience HELPFUL. Knowledge of all GMP and HACCP standards
• Experience in team based environments. Self-motivated. Able to work in a fast paced environment
• Willingness to work days or nights as well as weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
• Adherence to all OSHA and safety standards.
• Audio and visual skills are essential, along with keen diagnostic and analytical skills
• Ability to work assigned shift 5-6 days per week, up to 12 hours per day as needed
• Good organizational skills needed to set priorities
• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education and/or Experience:
• High School or equivalent, advanced degree or certification in related field a plus
• At least 5 years experience as a Maintenance Technician.
• 3-5 years Supervisory experience

Physical Environment:
• Pick up and carry a weight of, but not limited to, 75 pounds.
• Work in high heat and humidity.
• Work in a cooler set at 35 to 45 degrees F.
• Climb a ladder to a height of but not limited to 40 feet.
• Work in a freezer set at –10 to 10 degrees F.

Language Skills:
• Grasp of English language
• Bilingual a plus

• Some data entry skills as needed
