The annual Lorain
County JVS Open House is expected to draw
thousands of prospective students and their parents on Sunday, January 26, from
12:30 pm - 3:30 pm.
The Open House attendees get an in-depth view of the JVS
career-technical programs in the following career areas: Building Trades,
Business/Marketing, Community Service, Healthcare, Culinary, Manufacturing, Engineering
and Transportation.
Instructors
from the JVS Connections Academy will also be available to discuss program
options for 9th and 10th-grade
students in the Career Readiness and Career Explorations Programs.
The JVS Adult
Career Center staff will also be on hand to register adult students for upcoming
classes and talk with adults interested in changing careers or upgrading their
skills.
During the
Lorain County JVS Open House, visitors will have the opportunity to:
- Tour the campus and visit career-technical labs and classrooms
- Talk with teachers, current high school students and alumni
- View student demonstrations of industry-specific equipment
- Meet with local business partners about the need for skilled workers
- Apply for enrollment to the high school for the 2020/21 school year
- Visit the adult career-technical labs and view student demonstrations
- Talk with adult career center instructors about certifications/license post-secondary options
- Begin your enrollment process for the adult career center with the assistance of JVS staff members
