Leave of Absence Policy

Leave of Absence Policy

All Leave of Absence (LOA) requests must be submitted in writing to the Adult Career Center Office. Any student who would like to be considered for a leave of absence is required to complete the leave of absence request form and provide necessary documentation. Hard copy of the form can also be obtained through the Adult Career Center. The leave of absence cannot exceed 8 class days in any 30 day period and only two leaves will be considered in a 12 month period.

The student must submit the request form to the Supervisor, who will make the final determination and notify the student of the decision. In order for the leave of absence to be granted, there must be a reasonable expectation that the student will be returning to school and be able to complete the program within a reasonable period without undue burden on the JVS staff. Students may be eligible for two leave of absences every academic year
